Indian premier league abbreviated as the IPL is un-arguably the world’s richest cricket league in the world. The brand value of IPL is a whopping 6 Billion US Dollars. It is organised by the Board of control for cricket in India (BCCI). Unsurprisingly BCCI is the richest cricket board in the world. IPL is a marquee event in the yearly cricket calendar. It is always in the talks of cricket fans all over the world.
Remaining IPL 2021 rescheduled in September 2021
IPL 2021 started in April in India but the situation in India got worse due to the second of COVID 19. India was in a turmoil during the time. Few players from franchises also tested positive for COVID 19. As a result IPL 2021 was postponed indefinitely.
Later, the BCCI announced the rescheduled IPL will happen in September 2021 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The schedule of the same is already released. It will be a 20-25 day tournament. T20 World Cup will take place just five days after the IPL in UAE and Oman.
New teams in IPL
BCCI has shown it’s interests to make the IPL even bigger than what it is right now. The talks for two new teams are being done for many days.
Finally it’s being confirmed now. The IPL will be a 10 team tournament from next year. This means that we will not get home and away matches. This can mean that we will not see few matches like CSK vs RCB or CSK vs MI in the next season.
